This is « Interdimensional », our latest project, which went through a lot of trial and error before arriving at this final result. It is a continuing development of our research work and takes up the major themes that are dear to us: space, the physical phenomena that result from it and that sometimes go beyond comprehension, and science fiction.
Geometry is the starting point, but we're trying to add a little twist that we hope will make the viewers wonder.
There are several overlapping levels of perception. First, we try to capture the viewer's attention with a satisfying overall harmony that sparks interest in the artwork, and then, by going into detail, we compel them to move closer and literally enter the artwork and our world.
One constant in our research, which can be found in the various techniques we work with, is a deliberate optical component in which we seek to deceive the eye through a variety of processes.
For « Interdimensional », the idea was to recreate an artwork inspired by Escher's impossible geometry, where a simple shape, a hollowed-out sphere, reveals itself to be much more complex through the interplay of solids, voids and transparencies.
